Operation manager is the one who manage all day to day activities in any organisation no  matter the activities are at low level or high level and these day to day activities are known as operations. The person who manages all these day to day activities/operations is known as operation manager. He who is able to understand business operations, can identify the problems, report it to the owners and resolve them with real solutions which can be implemented and have experience of managing things can become an operation manager.  There are certain roles, duties and eligibility criteria of becoming operation manager which are discussed below:

• They manage daily activities of business, analyse the statistics means how much your business is generating revenue and how much the cost is incurred and then predict future plans, setting the budget includes how much budget should be assigned to a specific department, then reviewing the budget and managing costs of business.

• Another role of operation manager is quality assurance which means to check the quality of products producing in any organization, to check the availability of raw materials in any organization, distribution of goods and facilities in a right way. Operation managers ensure the smoot running of activities in any organization.

• Operation manager is also responsible for maintaining the safe and healthy work environment in organization so that everyone in organization can work happily and freely. He should also check whether all the standards and procedures of organization are complying with legal regulations or not. 

Someone who can perform all the above responsibilities can become an operation manager.

As an operation manager, in which profiles you can work are as follows:

Supply Chain Manager: A supply chain manager creates strategy of supply chain management for the company. He analyses data from point of shipping to deliver that product to check any issue the process. He checks the logistics to run smoothly and maintain inventory and records of them. He trains the employees to work efficiently and manages to reduce the cost. To make more profitable deals they communicate with the vendors and suppliers.  

Human Resource manager: The person who do planning, directing and coordinating functions of an organization to achieve the business goal. HR manager can help the organization in a great deal if he appoints correct resource for correct job position. HR manager should be best in planning and evaluating the human resource and fitting the right employee in the right position of job.

Plant Manager: Plant managers are production professionals involved in day to day activities of organization and long term plans of manufacturing plants. 

Administrative Manager: He provide support with the day to day activities like customer service or billing, credit, account payables, audit and payroll. They provide best customer service with their communication skills and ensure that the administrative staff is also held accountable to the same standards as the any other employee in organization.

Inventory control Manager: Inventory means all the stocks which company possess either they are raw materials or finished goods. Inventory control managers follow a process of inventory management in order to avoid waste of time, money and resources.

Facilities Manager: They check all the facilities available in organization for goods production, seek for new technologies which help in cost reduction and facilities available for employees to work properly in adequate environment.

Eligibility Criteria for Operation Managers

To become operation manager you should have a degree of bachelors or masters in business administration, public administration, finance or accounting, information system or any other related degree with minimum 2 year experience of project management in any organization, should have leadership skills.  Some small scale firms hire fresh graduates and train them but priority is given to an experienced person as no firm want any misconduct in their organization, so my advice to you is to do internships in this filed so you can gain experience first.
